GSCO Board of Directors Vacancy

Grand Slam Club, Birmingham, AL – With the recent passing of our board member Mark Hampton, we have been asked by a number of you about the succession plan to fill this vacant seat.

 

Mark served in a board-appointed seat with a three-year reappointment period due to expire on June 30,2026. (A copy is provided below from our By Laws regarding the appropriate appointment procedures due to death or incapacitation.)

 

In filling the remaining portion of this appointed seat, the Board wishes to reach out to our membership for suggestions regarding suitable individuals. If you know of a dedicated GSCO member who would be interested in serving and working for GSCO in this vital capacity, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . The recommendation period is now open and will continue through the remainder of August. Once all individuals have been submitted to the board, there will be a 30-day period during which the GSCO board of directors will conduct interviews. We anticipate that the appointment to serve the remainder of Mr. Hampton’s term will be announced on or before Friday, October 4, 2024 with his/her term beginning immediately.

ARTICLE VI

APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS

A. Directors shall be appointed by the existing board of directors.

8. In the event of the death, resignation, or permanent disability of any director, the vacancy may be filled by the board of directors at its next regular meeting, or at a special meeting called for that purpose, or by a telephone conference call of the full board. The person appointed by the board to fill the vacancy shall serve out the balance of the term of any such director.
