The International Hunter Education Association-USA (IHEA-USA) proudly announces a significant milestone in its continued growth with the hiring of Matt Clarey as its first-ever Director of Business Development and Sales. Matt will officially join the IHEA-USA team on January 6, 2025, bringing a wealth of expertise and a deep passion for outdoor education and conservation.
Matt joins IHEA-USA following a remarkable 25-year tenure with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), where he most recently served as Assistant Chief and R3 Coordinator. His proven leadership and commitment to fostering outdoor education align perfectly with IHEA-USA’s mission to promote safe, responsible hunting practices while cultivating the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts.
In his new role, Matt will oversee the development, strengthening, and maintenance of key relationships with industry partners, state agencies, and program stakeholders. He will also be instrumental in managing revenue-generating programs, advancing annual marketing initiatives, and ensuring that IHEA-USA remains a trusted authority in hunter education. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Matt will manage partnerships with organizations such as Mossberg, Henry Repeating Arms, Federal Ammunition, Savage Arms, and numerous NGOs while also managing the efforts of IHEA’s marketing contractor.
Executive Director, Alex Baer, expressed enthusiasm for the addition of Matt to the team:
