Plumb Precision Products Announces Plumb Reticle for Second Focal Plane Optics
Issaquah, Washington- Plumb Precision Products is proud to announce the release of the patented Plumb Reticle for Second Focal Plane applications. Plumb Precision teamed up with Atibal Optics and Optics Planet to offer this new and innovate reticle. Currently offered in a 1-6 LVPO from Atibal Optics, a company well known for its innovative solutions. Optics Planet, the leading online optics retailer, has put its full support behind this offering and designated it with an OPMOD designation.
The original Plumb Competition Reticle is oriented to Designated Marksman Rifle and Multi-Gun Competition applications. This requires a depth of information communicated to the shooter that may exceed the need of some shooters. The Second Focal Plane Plumb Reticle (SFP-PR) was created to communicate the perfect balance of information, while being unobtrusive.
It starts with a 4.5 milliradian ring. This ring allows for quick target acquisition and orientation. This ring allows for several rapid target engagement methods. At 1 power magnification the ring fits perfectly within the 6 by 6 inch upper portion of the IPSC target. This is perfect for stages with “Shoot/No-Shoot” targets. Allowing for quick “A” zone hits up to 25 yards. This also applies for the 6 inch wide “A” zone in the center of the target.
The 4.5 milliradian ring surrounds the top and sides of the full size IPSC target at 100 yards at 6x magnification. This allows for use in stages that have targets at multiple distances. The 4.5 milliradian ring designed specifically to use the central fixation bias. This is a physiological response to objects in a field of view.
The SFP-PR leverages the natural tendency to center objects in the field of view to provide accurate engagements at speed. The user’s eye will naturally center the target in the ring and this provides an “A” zone hit with unparalleled ease and speed.
Another patented feature of the SFP-PR is the ranging funnel. This allows for accurate ranging of targets at maximum magnification. The funnel requires the user to elevate the firearm until target edges touch both sides of the arcs. This provides bullet drop compensation. The is designed to provide easy “A” zone hit. For more precise targeting Plumb Precision recommends developing weapon/cartridge data and recording it on the Plumb Precision DOPE sticker.
It is important to note the center crosshair is for zeroing at 100 yards and the reticle is calibrated to an average of multiple 5.56 and 7.62 cartridges.
