Since the invention of the world’s first self-illuminating wristwatch in 1989, traser has stood for pioneering spirit and highly functional watch technology. Permanent light sources allow an ideal time display even in prolonged darkness. While the “Always-on Technology” offers high reliability, it could not be flexibly turned on or off at the push of a button – until now. After extensive development, traser presents an entirely new application in the watch sector: a closable iris diaphragm that can completely darken the dial in an instant. This innovation is paired with another first in the P99 Iris Limited Edition: the introduction of even brighter Super Powered trigalights.

Two Worlds United: Light and Darkness
A quarter turn of the ergonomically grooved bezel counterclockwise is all it takes to close the 16-blade iris diaphragm. Opening it is just as intuitive – a clockwise turn retracts the blades beneath the case rim, providing and unobstructed view of the high-contrast dial. The mechanism is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and has been rigorously tested for durability. Since the blades require no lubrication, the P99 Iris Limited Edition is maintenance-free and guarantees consistently precise operation.
Consistently precise also describes the time readability: Like all traser watches, the P99 Iris features the in-house self-powered trigalight technology, which illuminates hands and dial markers continuously –without any external energy source. This special edition marks the first-ever use of the Super Powered trigalight elements in a watch. Thanks to special coating, the capillaries offer increased luminosity, making the P99 Iris’s indices stand out with unprecedented clarity.
Limited Availability – Unlimited Functionality
While access is restricted to 300 pieces, the uncompromising functionality of the P99 Iris has absolutely no restrictions: The iris diaphragm, dial and PVD-coated stainless-steel case are deliberately kept in matt black to avoid light reflections. The case with a water-resistance up to 10 bar, a screw-down crown and the solid screw-in back with the engraved limitation number provide effective protection for both the iris mechanism and the Swiss quartz movement inside.
A rubber or textile strap, either all black or with a camouflage pattern, fastens the limited edition securely and comfortably on the wrist.
Constant visibility or complete concealment – the choice is now in the hands of the wearer.
